It includes APRN certified nurse-midwives. It does not regulate certified professional midwives who lack a Board license; the page provides a separate referral for those complaints.

How the official source says to file
- Choose I am a member of the public on the complaint page, download the form, and type or print the information legibly. Employers/risk managers have a separate linked route.
- Provide reporter and nurse information, incident dates and facts, patient identifiers if known, witnesses, and available documentation. Sign the report; attach additional pages if needed.
- Mail the original form to Kansas State Board of Nursing, 900 SW Jackson Street, Suite 1051, Topeka, KS 66612-1230. The form says copies and faxes are not accepted. Its optional notary section makes investigation a mandatory Board duty; an unsworn report remains subject to discretion.

What this route may not provide
The Board evaluates professional conduct under the Kansas Nurse Practice Act. Not every investigated allegation produces formal discipline. Its process page describes regulatory outcomes, and states that staff cannot provide legal advice or issue binding Board decisions.

Do not guess about confidentiality
The process page says the agency does not identify reporters or sources. The public form nevertheless requests the reporter's identity and signature. The checked materials do not clearly establish an anonymous filing option; confidentiality of a source is a different issue.
