Shared OPOR procedure checked; detailed online intake unverified. Some filing instructions were checked, but complete instructions for every listed credential have not been verified. Read the limits for your route.

Authority and scope

Check the license and concern

Board licensing covers pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, student pharmacists and pharmacy graduates. Establishment categories include retail pharmacies and out-of-state mail-order pharmacies dispensing to Maine residents. Identify the individual and the actual dispensing business, including the shipping location and Maine credential if known. Hospital or compounding-specific complaint requirements were not established by these pages.

Submission

Checked steps and filing details to confirm

  • OPOR's complaint page directs consumers to its online complaint portal. Confirm current filing requirements with the Board's complaints and Board-business contact at 207-624-8651 if you need help using that route.
  • Prepare dates, prescription information, the dispensing pharmacy's address, involved staff names and relevant documents. These are preparation suggestions; required uploads, signatures, records releases and authorization for a representative remain unverified.
  • Ask about an accepted alternative before mailing or emailing a complaint. The general licensing contact is not itself verified as a complaint-submission channel.

Limits

What this route may not provide

OPOR cannot order money damages. A licensee may agree to restitution or reimbursement in a consent agreement; fines do not go to the complainant. A civil action is separate.

Anonymity

Do not guess about confidentiality

OPOR sends the complaint and any complainant reply to the licensee. Investigative records are generally confidential while pending and later public unless another law protects them; patient treatment records remain confidential. Anonymous acceptance was not established.

Complaint timing

Ask promptly; later reply periods are separate

A filing deadline was not established. The procedure asks for a licensee response within 33 days and an optional complainant reply within 15 days; these are later processing periods. Separate legal deadlines still matter.

Process

What may happen after filing

OPOR assigns a number and acknowledges receipt. A complaint committee reviews information and may investigate; the Board may dismiss, reach a consent agreement or hold a hearing. A complainant is not a party to the consent agreement.
