Authority and scope
Check the professional and concern
The Medical Examiners board licenses MDs, DOs, and physician assistants, plus several other professions. It investigates illegal, unethical, or incompetent conduct under the applicable practice acts. LLR also receives complaints about unauthorized practice.

How the official source says to file
- Choose Medical Examiners in the online licensing-complaint route, or complete the Medical Professions paper form. Use license lookup if you do not know the license number.
- The paper form asks for practitioner and contact information, witnesses, occurrence dates, a factual statement, supporting copies, and whether you contacted the practitioner. It includes a signed truth attestation. Supporting documents will not be returned.
- If you want your supplied name withheld, submit the separate Good Cause Explanation with the complaint. The Board decides whether the reasons justify withholding it. Ask LLR for the current delivery instructions if using paper.

What this route may not provide
LLR may impose licensing sanctions but cannot obtain monetary restitution or a settlement for you. Its complaint investigation concerns administrative and licensing violations. It does not adjudicate your criminal or civil case.

Do not guess about confidentiality
The paper form accepts complaints without a name or contact information but warns that missing details may prevent investigation. If you identify yourself, the clinician generally receives your name, complaint and supporting materials. A good-cause request may be denied; its separate explanation is not released.

What may happen after filing
An analyst assesses jurisdiction and possible violations. If an investigation opens, you receive the investigator’s details. Investigators gather evidence and may request testimony. Review can lead to dismissal, a private caution or concern letter, or disciplinary proceedings and a board decision. Anonymous filers cannot receive updates.
