RLD Boards of Psychologist Examiners, Counseling and Therapy Practice, and Social Work Examiners

The authority has been identified from the linked sources. Complete filing instructions have not been checked. Confirm submission, privacy, timing, and oversight scope before filing.

Authority and scope

Check the license and concern

The Psychologist Examiners Board covers psychologists, psychologist associates and prescribing psychologists. Counseling and Therapy Practice separately lists LPCC and LMHC counselors, LMFT and associate MFT credentials, LADAC alcohol/drug counselors and LSAA substance-abuse associates, plus art-therapy credentials. Social Work Examiners oversees social-work licensing, including clinical practice. Each board has its own rules even though all three pages link to the same RLD complaint service.

Match the route to the credential

Use the license listed in the practitioner’s records or official license lookup. A psychiatrist is a physician; psychiatric nurses have nursing credentials. Some psychologists have prescribing authority, so medication alone does not identify the licensing board.

Submission

Confirm the filing instructions

  • Use the Boards and Commissions Division section of RLD Online Services and its File a Complaint or Violation link to NM-PLUS. It lists Counseling and Therapy, Psychologist Examiners and Social Work Examiners among covered professions. The downstream form was not read; exact fields and submission requirements remain limited.
  • Ask board staff for the current complaint instructions, including signatures, any notarization, patient authorization and requirements when filing for a child or another adult. The general telephone on these board pages is 505-476-4622.
  • Board contacts are counseling.board@rld.nm.gov, psychologist.examiners@rld.nm.gov and socialworkboard@rld.nm.gov. These are contact addresses; this check did not establish email as an accepted complaint-submission method.
  • Prepare a dated account identifying the clinician, credential, location, alleged conduct and supporting correspondence. Ask how to send therapy records securely. RLD’s published mailing address is P.O. Box 25101, Santa Fe, NM 87504, but acceptance of a mailed complaint was not established.

Limits

What this route may not provide

A prescribing psychologist belongs to the psychology route; prescribing authority does not make that practitioner a physician. The checked board descriptions concern professional standards and discipline. Authority to obtain refunds, damages or a particular treatment result was not established. For a psychiatrist (MD/DO), use the medical guide; for a psychiatric advanced-practice nurse, use the nursing guide. Identify any facility or program complaint separately from the individual credential.

Anonymity

Do not guess about confidentiality

Anonymous filing, respondent access, public disclosure and record-release terms remain unverified for all three boards. Shared online access does not establish shared confidentiality rules. Ask the selected board before providing another person’s sensitive treatment information.

Complaint timing

A filing deadline was not established by this check; ask promptly.

A filing deadline was not established by this check; ask promptly. No complaint-processing estimate was verified. Licensing application or renewal deadlines on RLD pages are not complaint-filing deadlines.

Process

What may happen after filing

The board descriptions establish public-protection and discipline responsibilities, but current screening, investigation, hearing and complainant-notification steps were not established by the accessible material. Request the procedure for the particular board before relying on a timeline.

Evidence

Prepare a reviewable submission

State the concern you want reviewed, give a short chronology and factual consequences, and explain your request. Keep supporting records and follow the receiving authority’s instructions before attaching or sending them.
